Assignments by Date
The unit 2 vocabulary list and the crossword puzzle are to be completed together. The crossword contains the clues which are definitions for the vocabulary list. The vocabulary on the vocab list are the answers to the crossword puzzle. Students will be given time in class to complete this.

February 10: Paleo Indians/Fremont and Anasazi Indians
First Humans of Utah powerpoint and notes: Review the powerpoint and take notes.

February 14-16: Anasazi Artifacts
Artifacts Activity: Students will use the visual artifacts to fill out the observation and Inference questions.
Additionally, we began a video about the disappearance of the Anasazi people. Students who are absent will need to speak with me about making this up. |
February 21: 5 Historic Tribes continued/Legends and Culture
5 Historic Tribes powerpoint: Use the information in the powerpoint to check the 5 Historic Tribes book activity.
Tribes Map: Please see me for a copy of the tribes map in order to complete this assignment. We also finished the Disappearance of the Anasazi film today. |
February 23: Native Legends
As a class we read, listened to, and evaluated different Native American legends about Coyote. You can read those legends, and watch the video to help you fill out the attached worksheet. For the Venn Diagram at the end of the worksheet, you need only select two of the four Legends from the Ute, Paiute, Navajo or Shoshone.

February 27: Unit Review
Unit 2 Review: Complete the review in preparation for the walkaway. Use the unit 2 notes and vocabulary to help. Use it to study for the walkaway.
