Mind Map: On a blank 8x11 piece of white paper, students need to draw a map of Utah from memory, labeling counties, lakes, rivers and mountain ranges. Students will be graded on NEATNESS not accuracy.

Checking Credibility Worksheet: Use the skills gained from the lecture to complete the worksheet.

January 23 : Lunch room fight
Lunchroom Fight: Use the powerpoint and artifacts to complete the Analysis packet. Students will Historical Skills to make a claim about the lunchroom fight.
Students were split into groups to complete the lunchroom fight analysis. If you were absent you will need to complete the packet on your own.

We finished up our lunchroom fight, reviewed Historical Skills vocab, and played a review game. Quiz next time.
January 23: Utah Geography
Quiz on Historical Skills. You can make up the quiz by taking it in test mode on quizlet linked to the left, and emailing me the results.
Additionally we took a pre-test as a class today. It is counting for extra credit so this does not need to be made up, however, if you wish to take it you will need to do so before school or when cave time begins next week. |

Use the Atlas's to complete the Atlas assignment packet.

February 2: Create Your Own Nation
Create Your Own Nation: Students are working within groups to create their own, imaginary nation, in the Utah region, using physical maps detailing precipitation, elevation, climate, resources, etc... They will need to justify their choices to settle in that area of Utah and explain how they will feed, cloth and shelter their settlement.
February 6: Review and Nation Presentations
February 8: Unit 1 Test and Finish Nation Presentations
